The Martin Currie Charitable Foundation is a registered charity (SCO37106) run by the staff of Martin Currie Investment Management, who select good causes to benefit from the firm's charitable activities. In 2010 the main beneficiaries of the Martin Currie Rob Roy Challenge will be Sightsavers, The Prince's Trust, PSYBT and The NSPCC, who collectively will share at least 75% of the proceeds of the event. Below we provide short profiles of our main charity partners for 2010.

Sightsavers' vision is a world where no-one is blind from avoidable causes and where visually impaired people participate equally in society. We are an international organisation working with partners in over 30 developing countries across Africa, Asia and the Caribbean to eliminate avoidable blindness and promote equality of opportunity for disabled people.

We prevent, treat and cure avoidable blindness and promote eye health. We also support people who are irreversibly blind or severely visually impaired by providing education, counselling and training. We help the people who need it most - those living in poverty in some of the world's least served communities. For someone who is blind, the gift of sight is the greatest gift of all.
Sightsavers is a registered charity: 207544 / SC038110

The Prince's Trust helps young people overcome barriers and get their lives working. Through practical support including training, mentoring and financial assistance, we help 14-30 year olds realise their potential and transform their lives. All of our activities - programmes, partnerships, fundraising - have one overall purpose: to reach young people in the UK who face more barriers than most, and help them get past those barriers so they can get their lives working and make a positive contribution to society. Last year the Prince's Trust supported 37,900 young people across the UK.
