THE MARTIN CURRIE ROB ROY CHALLENGE
Saturday 19 June 2010

ABOUT THE MARTIN CURRIE ROB ROY CHALLENGE

The Martin Currie Rob Roy Challenge is an exciting team-building event. Participants can enjoy the spectacular scenery of one of Scotland's finest long distance routes while raising money for three superb charities.

View of the loch

The event covers 55 miles of the spectacular Rob Roy Way by a combination of walking and cycling. On completion of the event at Kenmore on Saturday evening, teams will be hosted with a sumptuous feast and party, and a range of highland activities. This will be followed by camping on the stunning banks of Loch Tay or accommodation in nearby hotels. A special breakfast will be served on Sunday before teams depart for home.

We have three medal stages including relay options for all participants.

Teams or individuals completing and stopping at Balquhidder (27 miles) will receive a Bronze medal;
Those reaching Killin (38 miles) will earn a Silver medal; and
Those completing the entire 55 mile course will earn Gold.

Each team should be supported by a vehicle that will meet participants at the designated checkpoints.

The event that offers you more ...

There are a number of excellent events available to companies and organisations. So why should you choose the Martin Currie Rob Roy Challenge as your charity team-building event for 2009? In short, we believe we give you ...

More fun - There is a strong social aspect to the event, with a barbeque and highland festivities at Kenmore, on the banks of Loch Tay, on Saturday evening;
More charities - The Martin Currie Charitable Foundation can announce that NSPCC is the new National charity partner for the 2010 event. Sightsavers International, Princes Trust and PSYBT retained as our International and Scottish charity partners;
More inclusive - A 8-12 hour event - so no head torches!
More options - Most people will seek to complete the whole event, or you can split the walking and cycling within the team.

The Martin Currie Rob Roy Challenge is being organised by WildFox Events, which has a proven record of organising challenging fundraising events. Please contact us if you would like to participate or enter through this website.

The post event party

Kenmore will play host to the weary teams who will arrive throughout Saturday afternoon and into the evening. A special welcome will greet the weary souls including a massage, event feast, refreshments and entertainment. As teams will be arriving over a number of hours all facilities will be available throughout the event.

Prize giving, results and awards will all be announced after 8p.m. followed by a lively evening of dancing, entertainment and fun.

Cycle hire

Bike leaning against post in field

Our main checkpoint at Callander will be based at Wheels Cycles where walkers will transfer to bicycles. Participants will have the option of hiring a bicycle for £40, which will be issued on arrival at Callander. Alternatively, team members can bring their own bikes, carried by their support vehicle.

Please indicate clearly on the main registration form if you wish to hire a bicycle and add an additional £40 on top of the registration fee. Hired bicycles will be picked up and returned to Wheels by the organisers.
